Welcome to our website !

This week has been another one filled with revision, which isn't exactly exciting. However, this time next week I'll have completed my 2nd year at uni and I'll be home for the summer! Me and my friend went for a walk yesterday evening around The Common which was lovely, and then we shared a bottle of wine in Whetherspoons.

I've also ordered a few little bits from Superdrug this morning as 'revision motivation' (read: I'm just using that as an excuse!) so expect a haul next week.

What have you been up to this week?

Until a few years ago I used to stay away from all kinds of fake tan, unless it was a gradual moisturiser. This is because I'm so pale and I was so afraid of turning into an umpa lumpa, however I jumped onto the bandwagon and started using St Moriz Tanning Mouse and I'm so glad I did.

Exfoliate | Exfoliating before applying fake tan is so important as it will provide a smooth surface for your tan to stick to. It will remove any dead skin cells and also remove any old fake tan that may still be lingering on your skin.

Moisturise | When moisturising before fake tanning, focusing on your ankles, knees and elbows is really important as this is where your tan is more likely to go patchy.  Also I've been loving using these products from the coconut range at The Body Shop as one of my lovely best friends gave them to me for my birthday.

I am so impressed with the St Moriz Tanning Mousse which is supposedly as a dupe for the St Tropez tanning mouse, which I've never tried as it's a little out of my price range. I love that the St Moriz mousse doesn't make me look orange and it's so easy to apply. I'll just use a tanning mitt from Primark that's about £3 and it also dries so quickly which is a bonus as I'm usually rushing before a night out.

I will say, it is not waterproof so it will wash off in the shower the next day or if someone spills a drink down you when you're out which is the only downside I have. However, if you want an instant tan for a night out this is perfect and I'll keep repurchasing it.

The tanning mousse is available in two shades; Medium and Dark

What's your favourite fake tan?

I love highlighters, they're one of my favourite makeup products along with blushes. Toady I am sharing with you my current top 5 highlighters for Spring. If you've been reading my blog for a long time now you'll know that I am really pale, however I think these highlighters would look good on all skin tones.

From L-R
Revlon Skinlights // MUA Undress Your Skin // Topshop Sunbeam // S&G Glow All Out // Benefit High Beam

I have selected a mixture of both powder and liquid highlighters so I'm sure you'll find one that takes your fancy from this selection. I tend to mix Revlon Skinlights in with my foundation if I just want a more subtle glow, rather than an obvious highlight. Where as I use the other highlighters on the tops of my cheekbones and my cupids bow.

What are your favourite highlighters? Comment below as I'd love to know.

This week has been a really good week for me, I found out I got a FIRST in my group presentation from the start of term!! This is such an achievement for me as a) I hate presentations and b) I was so stressed about that particular presentation. Most of my time has been spent revising and watching Netflix as a form of procrastination and I had the most delicious Nandos on Friday. I've been making a conscious effort to blog more as I'm feeling inspired and it's a good outlet for me as I've been stressed by revision.

How has your week been?

Since starting uni almost 2 years ago I've really struggled with finding beauty storage that works for me. It's difficult because I don't want to spend a lot on storage that I'm only really using for half the year and half my makeup. However I have found the perfect eyeliner storage for me, so I'm sharing it with you.

If you saw my post the other week you'll know that this is my favourite eyeliner and as it's a felt tip liner it's best storage upside down. So, when I popped into Poundland and saw this cute jar with ribbon and bells on I knew I had to buy it. I find that this way I can access my eyeliners easily and they don't dry out as quickly as I store them upside down.

I'd love to know how you store your eyeliners so let me know in the comments below!

This week I handed in my final assignment for the year which means I only have one exam and then I've completed my second year at uni! I'm back at home home for the weekend just to see my family (and of course, my cats). I've had a lovely weekend being home and yesterday Kate Middleton gave birth to a beautiful baby girl who is gorgeous.

Do you have any plans for this bank holiday weekend?

I've been living in my uni house for about 8 months now and although I can't decorate it huge amounts because it's a rented property, I've added a few little touches to make it feel more like home.

The glass jar is from Poundland, and the other two decorations are from Primark. I find these little touches can change the whole feel of a room. I also have a few sets of fairy lights about my room which are also all from Primark.

Do you have little touches in your own room? Where do you find cute homeware bits?
