Welcome to our website !

In the summer everyone seemed to love the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation and I wasn't overly interested if I'm honest. I'm slightly wary of trying new foundations since my skin can be quite sensitive and I usually stick to the products I know work for foundation, but as my skin was improving a little I thought I'd try it.

This is a medium coverage foundation, but it is build-able if you'd want more of a full coverage. The best part about this product for me is that it doesn't feel like I have foundation on, it's so lightweight but it evens out my skin tone and covers blemishes to a certain extent. Although I see a lot of bloggers rave about this in Summer I love it in Winter too because it really brightens up my skin and that's what I desperately need in Winter.

It does have small shimmer particles in the foundation, which some people seem to hate, but for me I don't think they're that noticeable once you've applied it. The only downside for me is that the palest shade 'True Ivory' is still a tad too dark for me but it's wearable as long as I really blend it in.

What's your favourite drugstore foundation?

One thing I've always struggled with buying is a foundation that's pale enough for my skin. I'm super pale, as in "you look ill are you okay?" kind of pale (thanks to my Irish genetics). These are my 3 favourite foundations from the drugstore that do match my skin tone yay!

L'oreal True Match - C1 Rose Ivory
This is my absolute favourite out of the 3 and I know it's popular among other bloggers too. It's such a lightweight formula but still gives good coverage and a lovely finish that's not too dewy or too matte, perfect. I'm actually going into town this afternoon to repurchase this foundation as I need it back in my life!

Rimmel Match Perfection - 010 Light Porcelain
I remember finding this shade in Tesco last year and being so amazed that it was pale enough for me. Yet again this is also popular among bloggers. This was my go to foundation for months and it's the cheapest out of all 3. I sometimes have difficulty finding this shade in stores but when I do it's brilliant.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum - Vanille Clair
This is the darkest foundation out of all 3 and does match my skin tone but I have to make sure I really do blend this well. It's a slighter thicker formula than the other too and gives a bit more coverage.  As this is a gel formula it is slightly different to what I usually go for, but it leaves a beautiful finish.

What are your favourite drugstore foundations?

Rimmel Moisture Renew - Vintage Pink // Topshop - Called Up

A couple of weeks ago I did a post on some new A/W lipsticks (which you can read here) and today I wanted to share with you a couple of my favourites from last year too.

I love both of these lipsticks and they're both affordable with them being under £10 each. Vintage Pink is a perfect shade for day time if you're not into wearing dark lipsticks and sometimes I'm like that too. Called Up is my go to lipstick for a night out as I know it will last and is perfect for A/W.

What are your favourite A/W lipsticks?

Whilst I was home for Easter I was looking through the make up I didn't take to uni with me and found a few gems that I'd forgotten about. Previously the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder had broken me out so I stopped using it, however this time it works perfectly on my skin and I'll definitely purchase this in future rather than my MAC MSF Natural.

I'd forgotten how beautiful this Urban Decay Foreshadow Palette is and it's so easy to wear and the shades are beautiful, although admittedly I don't use Flipside (the green shade).

I don't know how I forgot about this beautiful Revlon Balm Stain in Honey but it's gorgeous for everyday or wearing on a night out with a smokey eye. It doesn't leave a residue on your lips once it's worn off and is so easy to apply.

Have you rediscovered any products recently?

I am constantly on the look out for a new pale foundation that is pale enough for me, I really struggle with this and so I'm blaming my Irish heritage for that! I think I may have finally found a foundation that is genuinely pale enough for me. This might not seem like a big deal, but the fact it is also a drugstore foundation is even better.

This is the Match Perfection Foundation in Light Porcelain. Surprisingly enough I spotted this in my local Tesco for only £5 which is an absolute bargain! It's usually £6.99 which is still a very good price, and I will definitely be re-purchasing this when I run out. I am so happy with how pale it is, I believe it's a new shade that was released a couple of months ago but I've not seen it anywhere else so I decided to pick it up. I've already purchased Rimmel Match Perfection before and I really liked it (apart from needing to blend it lots due to the shade) so I already knew I'd (hopefully) like this foundation.

As you can see, there is a huge difference between Light Porcelain and Ivory. Ivory was the previous shade I owned and next to my new one, it looks so orange! The main difference after the shade, is the packaging, I much prefer the new packaging (pictured of the left) and also the new foundation has SPF 18 rather than SPF 15 and even though it's a small change it's always good to have SPF in your foundation.
The next difference is the formulation of the actual foundation, it's not as thick as my other one and so feels a lot nicer on the skin, I had no problem with the old formulation but this one is just improved.
It gives a medium coverage but I'd say it is build able and it doesn't look cakey.

I am so impressed with this foundation, mainly the shade but also the packaging, the price and the formulation. I really think this is going to be a favourite foundation for a long time. If you're pale and looking for a good drugstore foundation I'd definitely say check out this because it's incredible.

As usual I ended up spending some of my lunch break from work in Boots and buying more make up I really don't actually need! It's becoming a weekly thing and I should really stop but I can't help it when there's an offer on.

I bought the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum which was £7.99 rather than £10.99. I bought it in the lighest shade (what a surprise!) which is 51 Vanille Clair. I haven't yet tried this foundation, and I haven't swatched it either since there were no testers for Shade 51 so I could have just made a massive mistake in buying a foundation that's too dark for me, I'll have to wait and see! I know some people buy darker foundations for summer when they're tanned, but I never tan I just burn so I can't use it in summer either!

I have mentioned this primer a few times before but this was on sale too for £4.99 instead of £6.99. I have done a full review of this primer here. This is my third time purchasing this, so it shows how much I love it. I only bought this as a back up so I don't have to purchase it full price next time!

Have you tried either of these products?

Even though it's leading up to Christmas and I only have money from my Saturday job I seem to be spending a lot of money on make up that I probably don't need! So once again, I have another small haul. Also Boots currently have 3 for 2 on Rimmel products and many other brands too which is good if you're looking at buying someone make up for a Christmas present.

When I saw the Boots 3 for 2 offer I knew I had to buy the only primer I've really loved which is the Rimmel Match Perfection Fix and Perfect Primer for £6.99. A while ago I did a blog post on this, because I really do recommend this primer.

I have to say, my favourite make up product is probably blush so I have more than I will ever use but I keep buying more! I've never tried a Rimmel blush before because I'd never really been interested in them so I thought I'd buy the Lasting Finish Mono Blush in 'Santa Rose' for £3.99. I've been wearing this since the day I bought it, and so far I really like it. It gives a beautiful finish with a very slight shimmer.

Finally from Rimmel I bought the Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Kohl Eyeliner in 'nude' for £3.99. I bought this because I love the Scandal'Eyes Mascara so I thought the eyeliner would be a good product to try too. I chose the shade 'nude' since I had seen a few people say they were using it in their waterline to brighten up their eyes instead of using a white eyeliner.

First of all thank you to everyone who follows me, I have finally hit 100 followers! I never ever thought anyone would follow me but I am so grateful!

So anyway, this is just the make up I've been wearing on a daily basis recently.

In my recent haul I mentioned that I bought one of the new Rimmel London Kate Moss Matte Lipsticks. I was hoping to buy two, but they only had one I liked which was the shade 101, otherwise I would have bought 107 as well, but I definitely think I'll be purchasing that soon. Like I mentioned in my haul I don't usually buy lipsticks since I get no use out of them.

First of all I really love how the packaging stands out from the usual black packaging of lipsticks and the lid clicks on and stays in place really well which is important for when I'm chucking it in my make up bag. Sometimes matte lipsticks can be extremely drying, but this is not the case with this lipstick, it's still moisturizing. I love the colour and pigmentation too, it's such a wearable colour for everyday and it's really pigmented but also build-able.

I do think I'll get a lot of wear out of this as there's no need for lipliner and it's easy to apply because it's moisturizing as well. I'm really pleased with this lipstick, and for only £5.49 it isn't overpriced so I'll definitely re-purchase this and shade 107 when I can get my hands on it.

I would recommend you go out and try these and find a shade you love! I can see myself re-purchasing this lipstick as I love wearing it, even though it's not an Autum/Winter shade.

The other at work I decided to go into Boots on my lunch break and spend some of the money I'd earnt that day. Since they had a 3 for 2 offer for all Rimmel products I chose to buy some new make up.

First of all I bought a new nail varnish (405 - Rose Libertine) which I'd heard about before, it's such a pretty colour and the fact it claims to dry in 60 seconds made it more appealing because I hate waiting for my nails to dry. It was only £3.69 as well, which is a really good price. I've worn this already and it does dry very quickly and stays on the nails for a good few days before chipping.

This next product is the main reason I chose to buy Rimmel products. I've heard so many good things about their Stay Matte Powder so I thought I'd give it a try and see if it is worth it. It was only £3.99 which is a lot cheaper than the Mac MSF Natural I bought recently. It seems to be a good powder so far and does keep my skin matte throughout the day. I'd definitely recommend this as a drugstore powder. I have mine in 01 translucent since as I always say I'm so pale.

Edit: As much as I love this powder, it appears to have broken me out, so I don't think I can keep using it anymore.

Finally this is the third product I bought from Rimmel. I've purchased this Soft Khol Eyeliner before and love using it for my tight line to make my lashes appear thicker. My current one is getting small and this was a good time to purchase it whilst the offer was on. I have mine in Jet Black and it was only £2.99 so this is the product I got for free.

I also wanted to buy a new liquid eyeliner, and I saw this Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner from Collection 2000. It claims to last 24 hours, and even though I don't think that's true, it does last all day when I wear it (about 7/8 hours).

xx
Recently I ran out of my avon magix primer and so I needed a new one as I hate not wearing primer under my foundation! So I thought it was time to buy a new one, and i went for something i hadn't tried before and quite a few people had mentioned this.

I first saw Brogan mentioning it on her blog and since I love her blog and youtube videos I thought I should try it.

Okay so here is what it looks like. It claims to do five things which are:
  • Smooths
  • Resurfaces
  • Brightens
  • Mattifies
  • Protects
I would say it definitely does all of these things! And for only £6.99 from Boots it's a complete bargain.
It makes definitely does its job in making my foundation last longer, and it hasn't broken me out either which is a bonus since I have quite sensitive skin at times. It really smooths out my skin and gives me an even base to apply my foundation to.

One thing I would advise anyone on who buys this, is once you think it's empty, cut it in half and there's still a lot more product left!
