Welcome to our website !

I've been revising for exams for the past 4 or more years so I feel I have finally mastered what works for me and what doesn't, so I thought I'd share my tips with you.

1. use colour
I personally find looking at an a4 page of black text very boring and it doesn't motivate me to revise at all, so I use a lot of colour in my notes to keep myself a little more engaged in what I'm reading and writing about. Whether you use highlighters, felt tip pens or pencils I find colour really helps.

2. have healthy snacks and water
Whilst revising you're very likely to want to reach for unhealthy foods and eat due to boredom (I won't pretend I don't do this sometimes). However, if you have healthy snacks nearby this will be better brain food and it's obviously better for your body too.

3. take regular breaks
There is no point trying to do 4 hours of revision with no breaks, you'll become very distracted and you won't take anything in. I usually have a 10 minute break every 40 minutes, now I know to some people this is viewed as having a lot of breaks but personally I have an awful attention span and whether my dyslexia plays a roll in this or not I do not know. Either way take breaks regularly!

4. make a revision timetable
I haven't always found these useful in the past but since being at uni I have found writing down all my deadlines and exams is vital. I created myself two timetables on Word and although they're not technically revision timetables I have all my deadlines on there so I know what timescale I'm working towards.

5. work in a quiet area
If this is possible, I'd recommend working away from a laptop/phone/computer/tablet because these will cause distractions. I prefer working in my brothers old room as it's quiet and away from everyone so there are fewer distractions.

Do you have any revision tips you wish to share?

I decided to take part in the 30 Day Snap which Louise (Sprinkleofglitter) came up with and she invited all of her readers to join in, so I'm going to try and do it and stick to it.

Day #12 | Messy Desk And Revision

Today is another day revising! I'm sorry that these photos aren't the most interesting but when I've finished my exams (17th June) I'll be able to spend more time on my photos and make them more interesting and get back to blogging about beauty products!

Are any of you still doing exams, or are you finished for the summer?

Day #10 | Revision and Pretty Fonts

So today my day was spent revising, once again and I'm trying to make my revision and a little prettier and less boring. So I decided to download the Brain Flower font which appears to be extremely popular recently.

What have you done today?

Day #8 | Colourful

Sorry I'm a day late in posting this. My Saturday was busier than normal because I worked 9-5 as usual but then babysat and didn't get home until 1am so I didn't have time to upload this yesterday (I did take it yesterday though, I managed that much!). Anyway, just a plain (and fairly boring) shot of some of my favourite pens for revision (yes, I am one of those who gets excited when I buy new stationery, haha!).

Day #5 | Revision

Today I am cramming revision for my Philosophy and Ethics exam which is at 9am tomorrow, stress! Anyway after 17th June I will be free of exams which means I'll be posting more beauty posts after then (and I have a post scheduled for tomorrow as well, so look out for that)

Today I decided I needed to spent a whole day revising and not get distracted (which clearly didn't happen since I took these photos and I am now blogging about my day haha!). Anyway, when I do spend time revising these are usually my essentials.

Tying my hair up and having it sit on the top of my head like a pineapple - it may look ridiculous but that's okay since no one will see me and it's out of my face!

Mind maps - I know some people hate them but I love them.

Making my revision colourful - I love making my work colourful, I find that way my revision is a little less dull. I use felt tips for huge mind maps, highlighters and thin tipped liners as well.

Lighting a candle - it always makes me feel calmer, and today I was burning 'Sun and Sand' by Yankee Candles. Mine is just the sampler size and the glass jar is from my Ikea haul. I really love the scent of this candle, I bought it last summer but completely forgot about it so I thought burning it now would try and keep me focused for summer!

Coffee - Lots and lots of coffee to keep me going!
