Essie Bahama Mama // £7.23

I absolutely adore this shade so much so that I've worn it at least once a week every week this year so far. This isn't your typical summer polish colour, but I still think it's gorgeous and if I'm wearing a colourful outfit I don't always want bright nails too so I fall back on this which is my 'go to' polish.

Essie polishes are brilliant quality and I love that the brushes are bigger than most other polishes so it's easier to apply the polish. I applied 2 coats here and no top coat in this photo (I have one on now just not at the time of photographing!). 

What's your go to polish?

 I went into Primark the other day and ended up buying a few pieces of clothing and a few other bits (which I should be doing a haul post on) and one thing I made sure I picked up were some of the nail varnishes. I reviewed one of the 'Angelica' nail varnishes back in October and I love it so for only £2.50 I had to pick up more.

These are the two colours I decided to pick up. There was a fair sized stand with so many different colours which I was really impressed with. The packaging is quite simple, but I don't look it looks cheap. 

The first nail polish that caught me eye was the one called 'Tantrum'. I think this looks beautiful on the nails and when the light catches your nails you can see the mix of purple, pink, orange and gold tones which is gorgeous.

I picked up this nail polish in the colour 'Angel' because it reminded me of the Models Own Nail Polish in 'Indian Ocean'. Unfortunately I do not have the Models Own nail polish otherwise I would compare them, but from looking at photos it looks quite similar! This is quite sheer if you only apply one coat, but after two coats it's absolutely gorgeous. 

This is what the nail polishes look like after 2 coats and Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Anti Chip Top Coat over the top. Both of these Primark nail polishes dry quite quickly which I find really important for me when I'm buying nail polishes since I always manage to smudge them whilst they're drying, but I didn't have a problem with these (even before applying the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Anti Chip Top Coat. Without the top coat I have found they do chip (at least on my nails) within about 3 days but then again my nails aren't in the best condition which doesn't help.

If you're near a Primark I would definitely recommend you pick one or two up and there is a good choice of colours to pick from.

What's your favourite nail polish at the moment?

I apologise for having yet another haul post, but Boots still has the 'Buy one get one half price' offer so I have to take advantage of it!

I've wanted to try these products for a while now and I thought buying them whilst on offer was the best way to save money in case I wasn't too keen on some of the products.

Bourjois 123 Perfect Foundation in shade 51. I don't think I really needed to buy two new foundations in one week but I've always wanted to try a Bourjois foundation. Ideally I would have bought the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundations but there wasn't a light enough shade for me. Anyway I'm excited to try this foundation because I've not seen many reviews on it, which could mean it's awful, but I'll give it a go!

Next is L'oreal Lumi Magique Pure Light Primer, I'd seen this last week when I bought these products but for some reason I didn't buy it and then I regretted it. So this week I bought it and although I've not tried it yet I think it'll be a good product.

I've seen MissBudgetBeauty rave about this product so I thought it was worth a try since I've not actually tried any Soap and Glory cosmetics yet. For £10 I'm hoping it will be worth it since my favourite concealer at the moment (Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection) is only £4.19!

Finally I bought the Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Nail Varnish for £3.99. I've not bought Barry M nail varnishes in a long time, even though I do love them, so I thought I'd try something from their new range. This is in the shade 'Pomegranate' and it's a beautiful red colour.

Have you bought anything whilst this Boots offer is on?

I don't usually stick to the 'on trend' nail colours for each season, but I do love the darker polishes for Autumn and Winter. These are my 5 favourite polishes for this season, they are quite similar (and two are the same, so technically I've got 6 favourites).

This is the first polish that I love wearing, especially in Autumn. I'm not sure of the name of the polish, so I know that's not helpful, but on the bottom it says 43 so I'll try and find out and update this later. It was about £1.99 from B&M.

Next up is a No7 Stay Perfect Nail Colour, this has to be one of my absolute favourites. I bought this using a No7 voucher so it was only £2, but it appears they've lowered the price of these polishes and now they're only £5.50 (they were previously £7). This shade is Blackberry - 60. It's such a gorgeous colour, has a large brush making application quicker and lasts about a week before chipping. This has some shimmer which makes the colour look even prettier in the light.

Max Factor Mini Nail Polish in Cloudy Blue - 18. I've already made a separate post here on how much I love this nail polish, so there's not much else I can say that I haven't already said. It's just a beautiful deep blue that looks gorgeous on the nails.

Nails Inc is a well respected brand which many people love and trust. This nail polish is called Piccadilly Circus and is a beautiful deep red with a hint of pink. It's long lasting, the formulation is great and I like the packaging since it's slightly different to other polishes. Although these polishes are more expensive than the others, for £11 you do get a good quality polish and it's definitely worth it.

Now here's where I sort of 'cheat' with the top 5, I have a dupe for this.

It's this Barry M nail polish. I haven't blogged about Barry M before but I do love the nail polishes. There's such a large colour range and they're inexpensive at only £2.99 each. Last Autumn this was my favourite polish to wear and I know a lot of other people love it too. It's in the shade Raspberry and it is a beautiful deep red colour.

Finally, this is another No7 Stay Perfect Nail Polish, but this time it's in the shade Highlands Mist - 180. This isn't technically an 'Autumn shade' but I think it's pretty to wear nevertheless. I prefer to wear this when I want to brighten up my outfit or when it's been particularly bad weather (which it usually is in England). It has the same formulation as the other No7 Nail Polish I mentioned earlier, and once again it's £5.50.


These are generally the nail polishes I will reach for in Autumn and Winter, there's no extravagant colours in there but I prefer to keep things simple.

The other day I saw a nail varnish stand in Primark that I hadn't ever seen before, there were so many gorgeous shades, but I only picked up this one. It was only £2.50 as well.

After applying 2 coats, it's still not completely opaque, however I do really like this. I would definitely try more shades next time I go into primark, especially if the rest of the shades are like this.

Has anyone else ever tried these Angelica nail varnishes from Primark?

Recently in my eBay wishlist I mentioned that I wanted to try the Technic Nail Polish in Carnival after seeing loads of people commenting on how good it was. So I went ahead and bought it. I bought it from here and it was only £2.49 including postage.

It's got so many pretty colours in it and it has bigger chunks of glitter and smaller ones, but it's still gorgeous.

I've currently got it on as an accent colour over the top of a Barry M Nail Paint in Strawberry Ice Cream. I think it just makes your nails look a bit more fun (if that's even the right word) and I think it'd go well over any pastel colour.

(P.S please ignore the awful state of my nails, it's due to bad habits and wearing fake nails too often)

Anyway, I am definitely glad that I purchased this as I have nothing else similar in my collection and for only £2.49 including postage it's so cheap!

Just a quick post because I like how my nails look today.

I used this MUA (Make Up Academy) nail varnish in Shade 17 for only £1.

I then used two coats of this L&B Nail Polish. I think this is from Tesco, but as it was a gift I'm not 100% certain.

Anyway, even though these are simple nails I still think they look quite cute for summer.

In my recent Elf haul from the beginning of the month I blogged that I'd bought a few nail varnishes, and I've been trying them out, and the quality and colour is amazing! So today I'm showing you how my nails have been recently. Please bare in mind that I am not a perfectionist when it comes to painting my nails as I get impatient waiting for them to dry. So if you can recommend me a nail spray that will dry my nails quickly, preferably for under £5 I'd really appreciate it!

Anyway this is how I've currently done my nails...

I've got on two of the Elf nail varnishes I bought and I've got an accent nail too just to make it look a bit cuter. I put two coats of the pink on and one coat of the glittery polish on.

This is the base colour I used which is called Passion Pink and cost £2.50

For the accent nail I used one coat of this over the top and it's called Twinkle and was also £2.50.

Boots often do the £5 off no7 vouchers and I realized I had one more day before mine ran out, so on my lunch break on Saturday I went into Boots to see what I could buy. As my Boots is quite small there's not a large selection of make up so I usually end up going for the nail varnishes, although if I had planned ahead I would of loved to buy the no7 highlighter. Anyway this is the nail varnish I purchased in the end.

I know you can't read the writing properly, but it's the best photo I could get!

So as you can see it's such a beautiful colour! And the name is 'Milan 110' as you can see. I applied 2 coats and a top coat and this is the result!

(p.s sorry about the pink hair dye on my hand, I've just dip dyed a strip of my hair pink and it won't come off my hand!)


Overall, I think this is my favourite no7 nail varnish because it hasn't chipped and it dries pretty quickly which I love because I'm impatient!
