L'Oreal Infallible 24H Matte Foundation (10 Porcelain) - £7.99 

I purchased this foundation a little while back and I've been meaning to write a post about it but I never got round to it until now. There are 6 shades in the range and 10 Porcelain is almost the perfect match for me, it's just a tad dark but bare in mind I am NW10-13.

I love this foundation because it's so easy to blend, the packaging means I can use this method to ensure I get all of the product out of the tube. It's also so affordable at only £7.99 which I think is a really reasonable price for this foundation. I usually use this along with the Infallible Mattifying Primer and as they are from the same line they work so well together. I'll be posting a review of the primer later this week so keep a look out for that.

The foundation itself has build-able coverage but it doesn't look cakey and it does make my skin look matte, but without looking flat and 2D. It also doesn't cling to any of my dry patches which tends to happen with some other mattifying foundations. 

Overall I am really impressed with this foundation and it's a firm favourite of mine at the moment, so I'd recommend having a look at it when you're next by a L'Oreal stand.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation 'True Ivory' - £8.99

In the summer everyone seemed to love the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation and I wasn't overly interested if I'm honest. I'm slightly wary of trying new foundations since my skin can be quite sensitive and I usually stick to the products I know work for foundation, but as my skin was improving a little I thought I'd try it.

This is a medium coverage foundation, but it is build-able if you'd want more of a full coverage. The best part about this product for me is that it doesn't feel like I have foundation on, it's so lightweight but it evens out my skin tone and covers blemishes to a certain extent. Although I see a lot of bloggers rave about this in Summer I love it in Winter too because it really brightens up my skin and that's what I desperately need in Winter.

It does have small shimmer particles in the foundation, which some people seem to hate, but for me I don't think they're that noticeable once you've applied it. The only downside for me is that the palest shade 'True Ivory' is still a tad too dark for me but it's wearable as long as I really blend it in.

One thing I've always struggled with buying is a foundation that's pale enough for my skin. I'm super pale, as in "you look ill are you okay?" kind of pale (thanks to my Irish genetics). These are my 3 favourite foundations from the drugstore that do match my skin tone yay!

L'oreal True Match - C1 Rose Ivory 

This is my absolute favourite out of the 3 and I know it's popular among other bloggers too. It's such a lightweight formula but still gives good coverage and a lovely finish that's not too dewy or too matte, perfect. I'm actually going into town this afternoon to repurchase this foundation as I need it back in my life!

Rimmel Match Perfection - 010 Light Porcelain

I remember finding this shade in Tesco last year and being so amazed that it was pale enough for me. Yet again this is also popular among bloggers. This was my go to foundation for months and it's the cheapest out of all 3. I sometimes have difficulty finding this shade in stores but when I do it's brilliant. 

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum - Vanille Clair 

This is the darkest foundation out of all 3 and does match my skin tone but I have to make sure I really do blend this well. It's a slighter thicker formula than the other too and gives a bit more coverage.  As this is a gel formula it is slightly different to what I usually go for, but it leaves a beautiful finish.

At the beginning of the month I blogged about how I was sorting through my make up bags and realised that I have far too much make up that I forget about. So I've decided to start a series on my blog called rediscovered beauty products which I'll be doing regularly. It'll include me talking about the beauty products I had forgotten about but have recently rediscovered!

1. Bourjois Health Mix Serum Foundation | £8
I can't find this on the Boots website anymore but it's available on Amazon here. I've previously reviewed this product earlier on this year here but I just forgot about it once I bought a new foundation. However, after using this I remembered why I loved it. It has a lovely scent, easy to blend and gives a good coverage.

2. Soap and Glory Kick Ass Concealer | £10
Although I like the actual concealer in this kit, I've been using the setting powder most. It just increases the longevity of my concealer and makes sure I don't look oily during the day. I've also reviewed this concealer here.

3. Accessorize Baked Blush in Scandal | £5
This was the first ever baked blush I bought and I loved it and used it everyday for months, but as usual I ended up switching it up with a new product and putting it to the back of my collection. I found it again the other day and remembered how beautiful it looked on my skin. It gives a lovely highlight as well, which saves time in the morning! As with some of the other products this specific shade isn't available anymore, however this blush looks similar and is also an Accessorize Baked Blush.

4. Benefit High Beam | £19.50 (full size)
I've never actually seen a negative review of this highlighter and I adore it. I usually gravitate towards it during the summer months because it just looks beautiful on the skin. I've done a full review of this highlighter here.

Have you rediscovered any beauty products lately?

I am constantly on the look out for a new pale foundation that is pale enough for me, I really struggle with this and so I'm blaming my Irish heritage for that! I think I may have finally found a foundation that is genuinely pale enough for me. This might not seem like a big deal, but the fact it is also a drugstore foundation is even better.

This is the Match Perfection Foundation in Light Porcelain. Surprisingly enough I spotted this in my local Tesco for only £5 which is an absolute bargain! It's usually £6.99 which is still a very good price, and I will definitely be re-purchasing this when I run out. I am so happy with how pale it is, I believe it's a new shade that was released a couple of months ago but I've not seen it anywhere else so I decided to pick it up. I've already purchased Rimmel Match Perfection before and I really liked it (apart from needing to blend it lots due to the shade) so I already knew I'd (hopefully) like this foundation.

As you can see, there is a huge difference between Light Porcelain and Ivory. Ivory was the previous shade I owned and next to my new one, it looks so orange! The main difference after the shade, is the packaging, I much prefer the new packaging (pictured of the left) and also the new foundation has SPF 18 rather than SPF 15 and even though it's a small change it's always good to have SPF in your foundation.
The next difference is the formulation of the actual foundation, it's not as thick as my other one and so feels a lot nicer on the skin, I had no problem with the old formulation but this one is just improved.
It gives a medium coverage but I'd say it is build able and it doesn't look cakey.

I am so impressed with this foundation, mainly the shade but also the packaging, the price and the formulation. I really think this is going to be a favourite foundation for a long time. If you're pale and looking for a good drugstore foundation I'd definitely say check out this because it's incredible.

MUA Undress Your Skin Illuminating Foundation - Porcelain | £5

Last week I blogged about the new MUA products I bought. I'm always trying out new foundations since I've not found one that is perfect for me, just yet. However I do absolutely love the new Undress Your Skin Illuminating Foundation, I got mine in the lightest shade which is Porcelain. I was honestly so surprised when this arrived that it's actually pale enough for me to wear, I was risking it slightly by buying a foundation online since I am so pale but this is perfect. It's also only £5 which is an absolute bargain and a lot cheaper than most drugstore foundations.

Before I apply this, I use my MUA Undress Your Skin Flawless Skin Primer so I have a smooth base. To apply this  foundation I use my Real Techniques Buffing Brush from the Core Collection. It's so easy to blend in which I love and it gives me a medium coverage. I have worn this foundation without powder afterwards and with powder, I personally prefer to apply powder afterwards simply because my skin can get a bit oily, but even without the powder it still looked good on my skin. I do agree with the claim that it illuminates your skin, but not over the top it just gives a subtle glow.

I am so impressed with this foundation, I hadn't read any reviews before I bought it but since it was on offer when I purchased it I thought I'd try it out. I'm sure I'll re-purchase this when I finish this tube. That's another thing I was slightly concerned about before it arrived, the fact it's in a tube. I'm so used to having foundations with pumps, but I don't find it being in a tube an issue for me, I almost feel safer with a tube so I know I'm not carrying a glass bottle around in my make up bag that could smash (I can be quite clumsy oops).

All of the products I have tried from the new Undress Your Skin range are wonderful and I'll be doing reviews on the rest of the products in the next few weeks! I think MUA have done really well recently with the new products they've released and they've still kept the products at such affordable prices.

What's your favourite MUA product?

I mentioned in a recent haul  that I bought the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum for £7.99 in Boots. I think I may have found my staple foundation at last! I've spent a lot of time and money trying to find a foundation I really love that matches my skin tone and works well for me. I do still love my Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation but it takes a lot of blending to match my skin tone which isn't great when I'm in a hurry.

This has a slight scent to it, but it's not noticeable once you've applied it, but it's not an unpleasant scent and it's quite subtle. My shade is 51 Vanille Clair (Light Vanilla) and it's the lightest shade available. I didn't swatch it before buying it which is a bit risky but there were no testers available. It is almost the perfect match, it's still very slightly too dark but being as pale as I am I always struggle trying to find a perfect match!

It's a gel foundation and it claims to have a 'half-matte finish' which I'd say is true. It still leaves your skin looking healthy (hence the name Healthy Mix) but it doesn't look oily. For me this foundation lasts about 8 hours before it starts wearing off a little unless I apply my MAC Mineralize Skin Finish powder.

Shade 51 is actually a very good match for my skin, it does oxidize very slightly near the end of the day but it's usually around the time I'm taking my make up off so it lasts a good 8 hours beforehand! I can't compare this to the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation since I've tried it because every time I go into my local Boots they don't have a shade pale enough for me! I'd love to try it when I can get my hands on it though.


What's your favourite foundation?

As usual I ended up spending some of my lunch break from work in Boots and buying more make up I really don't actually need! It's becoming a weekly thing and I should really stop but I can't help it when there's an offer on. 

I bought the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum which was £7.99 rather than £10.99. I bought it in the lighest shade (what a surprise!) which is 51 Vanille Clair. I haven't yet tried this foundation, and I haven't swatched it either since there were no testers for Shade 51 so I could have just made a massive mistake in buying a foundation that's too dark for me, I'll have to wait and see! I know some people buy darker foundations for summer when they're tanned, but I never tan I just burn so I can't use it in summer either!

I have mentioned this primer a few times before but this was on sale too for £4.99 instead of £6.99. I have done a full review of this primer here. This is my third time purchasing this, so it shows how much I love it. I only bought this as a back up so I don't have to purchase it full price next time!

I was looking through my make up collection and realized I had some products I needed to throw out since I don't get on with them. Here are some of the face products I really don't like for me. I'm not saying these products won't work for you, but I just don't get on with them personally.

So there are only 3 products, but I'll possibly do more of these posts later on.

(I know my packaging is disgustingly dirty, but it's been at the bottom of my make up drawer and it won't come off!)

First of all is this 2true Smooth Matte Foundation, now although this is only £1.99 and people say you get what you pay for, I did expect a little more from this foundation, maybe my standards are too high. Either way, the lightest shade Shade 1 - Ivory is still far too dark as you can see. On top of this, it gets darker as it dries, which means there is no way I can wear it even though I have tried to lighten it with other foundations etc. 

I have gone back to this foundation numerous times trying it when my skin was different, I still do not get on with it. 

The second foundation is the 17 Skin Perfecting Foundation and although this is no longer available, I still wouldn't re-purchase it. I got mine in the lightest shade which I think was Soft Ivory and it's a lot lighter than the 2true Smooth Matte Foundation it still doesn't match my skin perfectly either. It broke me out every time I used it, even after months of not trying it, it made my skin awful. It didn't give me much coverage at all, and strangely enough it made my skin look more oily, even though it's meant to be oil free.

I do like that this foundation has a pump which makes it easier to get the product, and it has SPF 12 which is always good for the skin. 

The final product is the ELF Essentials Shimmering Facial Whip, now although this product is only £1.50 I don't even think it's worth that. Mine is in the shade Spotlight so I'm not sure if the other shades are any better or if I just had one from a bad batch.

This product I have never actually used on my face more than a few times, I really should have thrown this away months ago. It may just be my one, but it is so watery it's useless. As you can see in one of the photos above, even after shaking it about 5 times, it still comes out with a lot of water. It doesn't blend well, it just clumps up and looks horrible.
