I can't be the only one who gets excited about Christmas as soon as we've passed Bonfire night?! I absolutely love Christmas and I'm already getting ready to decorate my room.

I absolutely love the Christmas and seasonal menus at Starbucks and Costa and I also bought the cutest mug from Poundland so I can feel festive whilst drinking my cappuccinos in my room. Having a festive mug just makes hot drinks taste that much better. This owl mug from John Lewis is also really cute and only £5.

Fairy lights or actual Christmas lights are a definite must have for the festive season as they just brighten up a room (quite literally) and they also make the room look more cosy. You can get 100 fairy lights from Tesco for only £6 which is a bargain.

Spending a day in bed all snuggled up with a hot drink watching my favourite films such as Harry Potter and The Holiday. 

Lighting candles to make my room smell like Christmas. Even though I'm not allowed candles in my uni room I'll be lighting candles in my room when I'm at home on my Christmas break.


What are your festive essentials?

In my recent post about revision I mentioned I was burning a new candle I had forgotten about (Sun & Sand by Yankee Candle) and unfortunately in between revising and revision breaks I wasn't paying much attention to how my candle was burning and it started to tunnel. This meant I wasn't going to get the most out of my candle, however I soon fixed it using one simple household product - tin foil!

As you can see here, my candle wasn't in a good state before I decided to fix it.

It's really simple to do, and it works well!

1. Cut one strip of tin foil. It doesn't need to be neat or fancy just some tin foil from your cupboard.
2. Fold it in half and then half again if you're doing this on a sampler size candle like I am, or if you're doing this to a jar you may only need to fold it once.
3. Then wrap it around the outside of the candle jar/candle holder tightly
4. Finally, fold the top of the tin foil over the top of the candle jar/candle holder so it stays put

In the end your candle may look a little something like this. It doesn't look as pretty as it did originally, however this will save your candle and restore it to how it should be burning.

After a couple of hours my candle was almost perfect again, apart from one little bit of wax on the side, but it's a complete transformation compared to how it looked before.

This is the final result. I started burning it again, and it burnt well.

Using tin foil is such an easy way to fix tunneling candles, and I will admit I was skeptical beforehand but I'm glad I did it!

What's your favourite candle?

My Mum went into Ikea on Sunday and picked me up a few things I'd been wanting for a while but hadn't got round to buying.

I was just looking for a simple candle to go in my room and so I now have the Mattfull scented candle which is an absolute bargain at 75p! I've not burnt it yet, but it smells lovely.

I think this has to be the cutest candle I have ever seen! I can't find the link on the website but I think it's too beautiful to burn.

I also asked for some scented tea lights since sometimes I don't want to be burning a candle for hours, just a short period of time. These are the Tindra Scented Tealights which are £1.50 for 36, another bargain and they smell beautiful as well as looking pretty.

Next these are the Fyrkantig Block Candle Holders which are 3 for £1. I thought these would look cute for tea lights in my room.

Yet some more candle holders! I thought I could put my Yankee Candle Samplers in, since I'm stuck as to where I can put them safely whilst burning them. These are the Galej Tealight Holder and you get 4 for £1.

Finally, I got the Skurar Plant Pot which I've seen many bloggers use as a make up brush holder, and for only £2 I thought I'd give it a go. It looks so pretty and I'm glad I have this!
