Seventeen Instant Glow Shimmer Brick (Pink Bronze) // £4.99

I bought this shimmer brick last year but I wasn't blown away by it and it got put to the back of my collection but this summer I've been using it almost everyday. I absolutely love it as a highlighter and as eyeshadow too. It obviously looks similar to the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick, however it's a lot cheaper! I can't compare the two as I don't own the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick, but I'm sure someone else has!

Anyway, I love using the top two shades as my highlight as it gives a subtle highlight that can be built up for a more intense look and I use the bottom two shades as eyeshadows. I find these last all day on both my cheek bones and my eyelids which makes this an even better product for my make up bag as it has multiple uses! As you can see in the photo below the shimmer brick is extremely pigmented as well. 

What's your favourite highlighter at the moment?

A couple of weeks ago I made a quick post here saying that on the MUA (Make Up Academy) website they were having up to 60% off FashionistA products. I knew straight away that I wanted to try a few things since I'd seen good reviews for quite a few products and I'd not got round to buying anything yet. So I thought I'd do a little haul and show you what I got.

 Although I've not seen any reviews on this I bought the FashionistA Powder Compact in fair because I needed a powder I could take out with me that wasn't expensive like my MAC MSF Natural. I paid £3 for the FashionistA Powder Compact.

I do absolutely love my ELF Eyebrow Kit but I wanted to try something new to try. I've seen quite a few bloggers mention this, and since this FashionistA Eyebrow Kit was only £3.50 instead of £7, I thought if I didn't like it I hadn't lost out on much money.

Finally, I was most excited about building my own Custom Design Palette. I paid £2 for the actual palette and you can choose between red and black, but I chose black because I personally preferred it.

On the left is Butterscotch blusher which was only £1.65 and on the right is Cinnamon which was also £1.65.

On the left is a bronzer in Rome and on the right is an eye shadow in the shade Nude Glimmer and once again both of these were £1.65 each.


I'm really happy with the products I bought and I'm currently trying them out and in the near future I plan to review them for you.

Have you tried anything from FashionistA?

I've seen so much hype around the Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer that I wanted to try it out for myself, even though I'm not a massive fan of bronzer because as I always mention I'm really pale and I'm worried it'd look too orange. Although I have been pleasantly surprised by this product. For once I didn't buy the palest shade available, I bought Shade 52. In my opinion the lighter shade looked a lot more orange than this one, doesn't seem very logical to me?! (Unless it was just the lighting).

The packaging is nothing special, it's just cardboard with a magnet which holds the product together. I do like how slim it is though, which means it's easier for travelling with. I am so glad I bought this bronzer, and in my opinion it definitely is worth the hype as I love it. It contours amazingly and although it has tiny pieces of shimmer in, they're not visible on the skin. For only £6.99 it's also a bargain especially considering Bourjois is a good brand. 

I would say though, that in my opinion the fact it's meant to be a 'chocolate bronzer' has nothing to do with me purchasing it. It does have a sweet smell but I'm not particularly bothered about what my bronzer smells like in the pan. 

I use this bronzer for contouring because, like I mentioned earlier, the shimmer cannot be seen once it's applied so it slims down my face. It's an easy product to work with and it's very blend able which is important for me, since sometimes when I rush my make up I can be a little heavy handed.

Are there any other Bourjois products you would recommend?

I bought this bronzer in a blog sale a little while ago, because I was in need of a new bronzer as I was bored of my old ones. I'm not sure if you can buy it in stores since I've never seen it but you can buy it here for £2.94 and free postage and packaging.

It's a matte bronzer and it's not too dark either which is good because, like I always say I'm very pale! It's one of the only drugstore matte bronzer I've found as well.

As well as it being a good price, it actually lasts a long time as well. This is currently my favourite bronzer and I think it will be for summer. I use it to contour my cheeks and forehead and sometimes down the sides of my nose to make them slimmer.

A while ago i bought the Sleek Contour Kit in 'light'. i had high hopes for this product as loads of people raved about it on youtube.

As you can see, it has such nice packaging as always with Sleek, a huge mirror and the contour and highlighter are both really pigmented! It's definitely worth the £6.50 and I will be re-purchasing it once I've finished this one.

The highlighter - Previously I had only used 'High Beam' by Benefit and I didn't think I'd ever like a different highlighter, but this leaves a subtle but pretty glow on the skin and looks so pretty, especially as the weather's improving!

The contour powder - I haven't had much luck with contouring before because I'm so pale they usually look orangey and horrible on me, but this is just right! It defines my cheek bones really well but still looks natural at the same time. I'm really impressed with this product.
