Welcome to our website !

Until a few months ago I swore by Garnier's Micellar Water as my holy grail makeup remover for the past few years, however since using The Body Shop's Camomile Cleansing Butter I have changed my mind and now swear by this cleansing butter.

TBS Cleansing Butter is so easy to use, all you need is the cleansing butter and a muslin cloth to remove your makeup afterwards. I only use the smallest amount for my whole face, about a pea sized amount. I just rub it in between my fingers and then massage it all over my face, including my eyes. It's the most gentle makeup remover I've ever used on my eyes, and doesn't leave my face feeling greasy or oily afterwards which I've found with some other eye makeup removers. It melts away all my makeup so easily and quickly, including those stubborn waterproof mascaras that are a pain to remove. Another thing I love about this makeup remover is that it isn't drying, which I also find can be a result of some makeup removers.

It's really gentle on my skin and is suitable for sensitive skin, and it hasn't broken me out which is a bonus. The pot contains 90ml of product and I've only made a slight dent in it after about 3 months use as you can see. I will say though, this does leave you with the biggest and most hilarious (in my Mum and boyfriend) panda eyes, but obviously that quickly goes once you wipe a damp muslin cloth over your face. It takes me less than 5 minutes to remove all my makeup with TBS Camomile Cleansing Butter and I 100% recommend it if you haven't already tried it.

Have you tried TBS Camomile Cleansing Butter yourself?

When I was on holiday a few weeks ago I popped into Boots in Poole and I finally found a NYX counter! All of the Boots stores near me, don't have one and I was so upset haha! Anyway, I'm really happy that I managed to pick up a few bits and I thought I'd share them with you today.

I've finally picked up the infamous 'Cannes' Soft Matte Lip Cream that I've been wanting for ages and I'm loving it. It's perfect for an everyday 'my lips but butter' shade and I love the formula of the Soft Matte Lip Creams. The HD Concealer has really impressed me, especially with the shade range. There's 11 shades in the range, including colour correcting concealers which I'm yet to try. The concealer I picked up is in the shade 01 Porcelain and it's actually a brilliant match for someone as pale as me (NW10-13). The Tame and Frame Brow Pomade was the first brow pomade I've tried and I'm really impressed. I think it's surpassed my favourite ELF Studio Brow Kit as my go to brow product.

What are your favourite NYX products?

Until fairly recently I didn't really bother taking care of my hair that well, I'd shampoo and condition it but that'd be about it. That all changed when I bought these two hair products. I picked them both up about a month ago and I've been loving them ever since. Before we start, my hair is quite long and goes past my boobs and so I really do need to take care of it!

I picked up the Garnier Ultimate Blends Serum because my Mum recommended it to me as she had a sample and loved it. I apply about 2 drops to the ends of my hair as soon as I get out of the shower and my hair is so much softer for doing it. You really do only need a tiny amount and it has made a huge difference to the condition of my hair.

The Ogx Coconut Oil Mist was the second hair care product I picked up, and to be honest it was the coconut scent that drew me in. It smells divine and it's made my hair so much more shiny. With this oil it recommends that you apply it to towel dried hair, and then style as desired. I apply a few sprays of this to the mid-end lengths of my hair, and it's been working wonders. I've never tried anything from the Ogx range before but I'd really like to considering I love this product so much.

Overall, I really notice the difference if I forget to use these products for a few days. My hair feels and looks a lot healthier for using these and I'm so glad I picked them up. They're both affordable and I do recommend them highly.

Do you use any oils or serums on your hair?

If you read my last post about my March Goals you'll know that I'm currently on a spending ban and living off £1.40 a day so there is no way I can splash out on new beauty products. However, before I realised my money situation was so bad I bought myself a few beauty items and I'm sharing those with you today!

I love the True Match foundation, I think this is my 4/5th bottle now and I swear by it. It provides good coverage but doesn't feel cakey on my face which is always a bonus! There's also a great shade range, I believe there's around 24 shades which is incredible for a drugstore foundation and I wear the lightest shade C1 Rose Ivory which is a near enough perfect match for me.

I was really intrigued to try the Contour Kit as I bought it before hearing anything about it or reading reviews and I'm so glad that I did. In short I have it in light-medium, I adore it and I'll be doing a full review very soon so look out for that! The last thing I picked up was another product I'd not heard of and it's the Infallible Matte Max Lipstick in the shade 'Like A Virgin' and it's a pretty pink shade, with a hint of coral. It's a really interesting concept as it has a sponge applicator but I'm really liking it.

In addition to the products above I also picked up the Dual Cleansing Oil and Toning Facial Mist from Superdrug's Vitamin E range. I also bought these on a whim (I usually read at least 2/3 reviews before buying something!!) and I'm getting along with them okay so far. I'm still getting used to using a cleansing oil to remove my makeup, but it does work quite well. I'll also be doing a full review of these in the near future.

Have you picked any new beauty products up recently?

I can't help but make mental lists of makeup I want, and today I'm sharing the drugstore edition. As much as I'd love to splash out on Hourglass, Laura Mercier and Urban Decay it's not practical as I'm a student on a budget! However, drugstore wishlists are more realistic for me and there's a few products I'm lusting over.

I recently read Adrienne's review of the new Collection primers over on her blog (which you can read here) so I knew I had to try them. Along the theme of primers, this NYX Honey Dew Me Up primer caught my eye as it looks different, and the bottle would also look pretty on my desk ha! I'm also intrigued by L'Oreal's Fixing Mist as it's just been released here in the UK and I've seen Youtubers and Bloggers from over seas raving about it. I've read quite a few positive reviews about NYX's Contour Kit and how it's also suited to pale skin tones which is perfect for a pale gal like me. Finally I noticed that Bourjois released a new concealer that sounds like it would be moisturising as well as providing coverage, perfect combination (on paper at least).

Have you bought anything from the drugstore recently?

We've all been there when we wake up late or our beds are just too cosy to climb out of and you realise you only have a few minutes before you need to run out the door. Well, this makeup look is the one I go for when I only have 5 minutes to get ready. I swear by all of these products and would recommend them all to everyone!

Face
L'Oreal Infallible Primer (post) is my go to primer at the moment as it provides me with a smooth base for my True Match Foundation (post) and increases the longevity of my makeup too. I've also been using the ELF Eyebrow Kit (post) for years (obviously not the same one!!) and I love it. It comes with a gel and powder, but I've used all the gel so using the powder. Finally for my face I like to use the Soap and Glory Solar Powder which I bought just after Christmas and have been loving it since. I'm really pale and it doesn't look orange on me which is great.

Eyes
For my eyes I keep it really simple and apply the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze (post) all over my lid and then follow that with a few coats of my current favourite mascara, Maybelline The Rocket Mascara (post).

Lips
I said I keep my eyes simple, but lips are even quicker. I just apply the Primark Lip Liner (post) all over my lips. Unfortunately these don't have shades or numbers but this is a 'my lips but better' colour.

What are your fail safe makeup products for when you're in a rush?

p.s. I'm 21 tomorrow and it's so scary (but also exciting!!).

I love mascara as I feel it's the one product that really changes how I look. I remember quite some time ago there was a lot of hype around Maybelline's The Rocket Mascara but I only started using it in December when I mentioned it in my December Makeup Mixup. I've loved it ever since.

I've been really impressed with the volume that this gives my lashes, as well as lengthening them at the same time. I can't fault the formula as it lasts on my lashes all day without flaking or smudging. As you can see from the photo above, the brush is quite big and plastic, but I'm not particularly fussy when it comes to mascara wands. The bristles vary in length which I think enables the wand to get to all of the lashes and coat them.

Overall, I've been loving this mascara and I actually quite like how the packaging stands out in my makeup bag and brightens it up.

Have you ever tried The Rocket Mascara, or any other Maybelline mascaras?

Last weekend the boyfriend and I went to Verona for a couple of nights as a little Christmas break and it was amazing (I'll have a post up with photos soon). Whilst we were there I couldn't resist popping into Kiko as it was the first time I'd seen an actual Kiko shop, and I've never bought anything from the brand before. One thing that I really liked about the shop was that you can test nail polishes! This isn't something that's done in England, so even though it's trivial I really liked it.

Dazzling Highlighter £6.90 // Smart Liptick £3.90 // Nail Polishes £2.50

I knew I wanted to try the Dazzling Highlighter 04 Bright Rose as I'd seen it online and thought it looked similar to Clinique's Highlighting Chubby Stick, but a lot more affordable. I chose 04 Bright Rose because I thought it would suit my skin tone more than 03 Pure Gold.

I couldn't resist picking up a lipstick but I was overwhelmed by the variety available so in the end I chose one of Kiko's Smart Lipsticks in 909 which is a beautiful deep red shade. The formulation of this lipstick is amazing as it's matte, but isn't drying whatsoever and feels velvet-like on the lips.

Finally, I picked up a couple of nail polishes as they were actually reduced in store so I couldn't leave without a couple. I chose 266 Ultramarine Blue which is a gorgeous blue with shimmer running through it and 493 Vino Perlato which is the perfect red for the festive season.

I'm definitely going to be buying more products from Kiko. Do you have any recommendations?

This time of year calls for a dark lip and I love it. Previously my favourite dark lip was Topshop's Called Up but since that's not available anymore I have a new favourite combination.

Technically both of these are lip pencils, but Maybelline's Color Drama pencils are more of a lipstick due to the long lasting wear and I've always used them that way. If you want a full review of these lip pencils, you can read it here. I simple apply Essence's £1 lip liner first, and although the colours don't look like they'd match they work well together when applied on the lips.

Top - Essence lip liner // Bottom - Maybelline Color Drama

I'm really loving this combination at the moment and it's so long lasting and neither of the products are drying which is always a bonus in this super cold weather!

What's your favourite lip look for these colder months?

A couple of weeks ago I featured a brush cleanser from P.S. Love This (which is Primark's beauty range incase you're not familiar with it) in a haul and I thought it was about time I wrote a review. I was really intrigued by this as I don't see many brush cleaners in the drugstores in the UK.

This is the method I use to deep clean my brushes and I swear by it, but I do like to spot clean them in between to prevent the build up of bacteria.

The directions suggest you apply the brush cleanser to the brush itself and swirl it around on a paper towel. However, for me I prefer applying the cleanser to my silicone glove AND the brush to save time. The cleanser itself doesn't have an unpleasant smell which I found the E.L.F one did when I used it a few years ago, and you get 125ml for £2 which will last you quite a while.

Of course I still deep clean my brushes regularly as this doesn't remove all the makeup, especially if I'm using it on a foundation brush but I do really like this cleanser. I use it a few times a week and it also reduces the amount of time I spend deep cleaning my brushes which is a bonus as I find it quite the chore!

So will you be picking up this bargain brush cleanser or do you swear by another one?

Primark Brush Cleaner - £2 // Essence Clear Lip Liner - £2 // Essence Gel Pencil Liner - £2.30 // Orly Color Blast - £2.99 // Essence Express Dry Drops

It happened again...I wondered into town with no intentions of buying anything beauty related and came home with 5 new items.

A few weeks ago I posted about a few bits I'd picked up from essence and I had to go back for more. I also had a quick look around the beauty section of TK-Maxx and bought this gorgeous Autumnal Orly nail polish for £2.99, bargain! Finally I spotted this brush cleaner in Primark and for only £2
I couldn't resist as we don't have many bargain brush cleaners in shops. I also couldn't resist a few new items from Essence including a clear lip liner, gel waterproof liner and express dry drops which really interested me.

I'm trying out all these products so expect a few reviews coming up soon!

Have you tried any of the products I've mentioned?

I've had this beauty in my collection for a few months now and I've been meaning to write a review about it. I actually purchased a few Freedom Makeup bits when the brand first launched, however I'm yet to write a review on any of the products despite using them frequently.

I've had this palette in my makeup bag since I bought it and it's become a go-to palette for me. Although it's a little smaller than other palettes I have so it means you don't get as much product, it makes it more makeup bag friendly.

As the title suggests it is a matte palette predominantly but there is one shimmery highlighter shade in the palette too which is great for brightening the inner eye. I also find these shadows to be pigmented and not chalky and there is minimal fall out. The best part about this palette is that it's so affordable at only £2.50.

Primark Lip Liners £1 each // Essence Eyeliner Pen £2.50

The other day I popped into town and bought a few new beauty bits. It's only a small haul but nonetheless I still wanted to share it with you all as I'm really enjoying using them.

Primark Lip Liners - £1 each
I picked these up as I'd seen a couple of other bloggers mentioning them and how they were great for the price. In all honesty, if I hadn't read reviews previously I probably wouldn't have picked these up.
These lip liners don't have shades or numbers which is a little inconvenient but the shades are gorgeous. The formula is creamy and non-drying and surprisingly long lasting and I;m impressed and would definitely repurchase these again.

Essence Eyeliner Pen - £2.50
If you've been reading my blog for a little while you may remember this post confessing Collection's Felt Tip Liner as my favourite liquid eyeliner. However, I think I may prefer this Essence Eyeliner Pen as it's more pigmented and is more long lasting. The tip is thin enough to create a thin liner or a thicker liner look, so it's very versatile.

Have you tried any of the products I've mentioned above?

I will be honest here, until a couple of years ago I had no skincare regime at all. Throughout most of my teenage years I was lucky enough to have fairly clear skin with the odd typical breakout here and there but nothing major so I didn't bother. I do regret this now as I'm sure I'll be paying for this later on in life but I do now have a skincare regime, it's still pretty simple but it's something.

All of the products I use are really affordable too as I'm a student and can't afford to be splashing out on luxurious skincare at the moment, but I love the products I use.

Garnier Micellar Water £4.99 | I can't rave about this product enough, I love it and swear by it and that's the end of it. Okay, well I'll tell you a little more but it's my favourite cleansing water I've tried and I recommend it to anyone I can and a few of my friends and my Mum have started using it after me going on and on about it! It's gentle on my skin and also removes waterproof mascara too. It's on offer quite frequently in Boots so keep an eye out for that. I've only tried the original formula but I know that Garnier have brought out a Naturals and Pure version which I'll try at some point.

Simple Revitalising Eye Roll On £5.19 | I bought this a few weeks ago whilst it was on offer and mentioned it in my haul here and I'm so glad I did. It's really soothing and moisturising and I apply it both morning and night.

Simple Illuminating Radiance Cream SPF 15 £6.59 | I also picked this up whilst it was on offer and I'd definitely pay full price for it when I repurchase it. It's a lightweight moisturiser that doesn't leave my skin feeling sticky and clogged and it also has SPF 15 which is a bonus. Some illuminating products I've tried in the past didn't really do much for my skin, but with this I really can tell the difference. Alternatively, I used to use the Simple Rich Moisturiser which I swear by in the colder months.

There you have it, my favourite skincare products that are also really affordable. Like I said previously, my skincare routine is pretty basic but that's how I like to keep it as I'm usually in a rush in the mornings.

Have you tried any of the products I've mentioned?

Recently I've been buying myself a lot of new beauty products which is not the best for my bank account but I'm really happy with my purchases.
The other week Boots had an offer on Simple products where most of them were 50% off so I couldn't resist buying a couple of items. I picked up the Simple Illuminating Radiance Cream (£3.29) and the Revitalising Eye Roll (£2.59). I also bought a few items from a blog sale and the lovely Georgie also sent me the Yu-Be Moisturising Skin Cream (£13.50).

I also popped into Boots and they were offering 2 Seventeen products for £8 so I couldn't resist picking up the Define and Conquer Contour Kit (£5.99) which I've been dying to try. I also had to pick up a backup of my all time favourite concealer (big statement, I know), the Stay Time Concealer (£4.49).
Revlon also had a 2 for £10 offer on so I couldn't resist picking up the Lash Potion Mascara (£9.99), but in the waterproof version.

In Georgie's blog sale I also bought the Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayon (£7.99) in 07 Proudly Naked and once again Georgie was lovely and sent me a Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfector (£18 full size) which is gorgeous and I've been wearing a lot.
Along with the mascara, I picked up Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick (£7.99) in Rose which is quickly becoming my all time favourite pink lipstick.
Top to bottom - Bourjois Colour Boost 07 Proudly Naked, Revlon HD Rose, Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfecter

I'm really happy with all my purchases and I'll be writing full reviews of the products mentioned above when I'm back from my holiday in a couple of weeks so look out for those.

Have you purchased any new beauty items recently?

I was browsing Tesco Direct and Amazon the other day and I came across some beauty bargains that I couldn't resist buying. I only bought a few things as you can see but I'm really happy with them.
So far I'm really impressed with the Expert Face brush which I've been dying to try for a while now but I wanted to wait until I could find it on offer (stingy student over here, hi!) and for £6.25 I couldn't turn it down. I've been using it to apply the Rimmel BB Cream in the shade Very Light which is perfect for a pale gal like me who never tans! The coverage of this BB Cream really surprised me so expect a review of this very soon.

Models Own Indian Ocean swatch on nails
Models Own Indian Ocean

Finally I've been wearing Indian Ocean on my nails this week and I'm undecided on this polish. I adore the shade but it took 3 coats for this shade to appear as it is very sheer. Saying that, it's such a gorgeous colour and I remember this being raved about by almost everyone last summer so I'm going to keep trying it. For £2.50  I'm glad I picked it up.

Have you tried any of the products I've mentioned?

I'm not sure how it happened or when but over the past couple of years brows suddenly became a huge interest of everyone. I remember not previously bothering too much with my brows but now I don't go out the house without retouching them in some way.

ELF Studio Brow Kit £1.93 - £3.50 | For years this has been my favourite eyebrow kit and I've loved it since I became interested in makeup. However, now it's not as easy to get hold of for those of us who live in the UK but I luckily have a few backups. It comes with a wax and a powder and I personally prefer to use the wax (as you can see from the photo above) although the powder is brilliant too. This brow kit used to cost me around £3.50 however, it's currently on iHerb for £1.93 which is a complete bargain!

Essence Make Me Brow Gel 01 | This a fairly recent purchase for me as I could never justify buying Benefit's Gimme Brow due to the price (student budgeting, yano how it works) but many people have named this as a dupe and it's only £2.50 which is a bargain. I will be repurchasing this for sure as the brush is small enough to cover my brows but without getting the gel all over the rest of my forehead (this might just be a problem I found with other brow gels). There are only 2 shades in the range as far as I'm aware but I have super dark brows and this gel still works for me, but I'm not sure it would work if you have blonde brows.

Freedom Makeup Eyebrow Kit £3.50 | This is a kit I haven't owned for too long either, but I love it. It has 3 brow powders and a brow gel in the kit along with tweezers and a mini brush. It really is perfect for travelling and I love that theres 3 powders so you can mix your own shade to match your brows perfectly.

Essence Brow Gel 01

I also use an angled brow brush that I bought from Next years and years ago but I've found this one for £1.25 which I'm buying myself soon as a backup.

What are your go to brow products?

We've all been there when we're running late but we still can't face leaving the house without makeup on (thanks under eye bags for making me look like a zombie). So today, I'm sharing with you what I apply when I literally have 5 minutes to get ready, no contouring, no smokey eye but the basics that I will apply.

All of the products above are so easy to apply, and I can do this makeup look without any brushes as well which is perfect when I'm rushing. I love the Kiss Light Reflecting Primer (review here) as it does brighten my skin and prolongs the wear of my foundation, or in this case BB Cream. The brow gel just adds a bit of shape and definition to my brows which I definitely can't leave the house without, especially if I'm wearing my glasses.

What makeup can't you leave the house without?
