Asda Haul | NSPA Coconut Range and George Make Up

Yesterday I went shopping with my Mum to pick up a few bits for uni and then we went into Asda to have a quick look around. I bought some stationery and a few other necessities for uni but I obviously ended up down the beauty aisle and I picked up a few things.

The first things I bought were from the NSPA range and I'd never heard of this brand before, but there was a 2 for £4 offer on their body products so I thought I'd give them a go. I was torn between buying raspberry and coconut but I chose coconut because I already have a lot of raspberry Body Shop items at home. Anyway, these two products smell amazing.

I've already tried the Coconut Body Milk once after my shower last night and so far I really like it, but I'll keep using it a little longer before I do a full review. It's usually priced at £3 for 300ml which is a bargain.

I then chose the Coconut Body Mist to go with the body milk. This also smells wonderful and the scent lingers as well, which is obviously the point of a body mist but sometimes I find the smell just disappears after a few minutes. This also retails at £3 usually.

Finally, this George Glow Shine Luminous Highlighter caught my eye because I thought it looked similar to Benefit High Beam (which I have reviewed here) and so soon I will do a comparison of the two and a review as well. This highlighter was only £3.50 so we'll see how good it is!

Have you bought any new beauty products recently?

Clothes Wishlist | Autumn 2013

I absolutely love Autumn/Winter clothes far more than Summer clothes because I just love being cosy and comfy. I can't wait until I can buy new clothes and I'm already getting excited about it (that might be a little sad, haha!).

So these are a few of the items I've been eyeing up this month! What are you Autumn/Winter picks?

Rediscovered Beauty Products #1

At the beginning of the month I blogged about how I was sorting through my make up bags and realised that I have far too much make up that I forget about. So I've decided to start a series on my blog called rediscovered beauty products which I'll be doing regularly. It'll include me talking about the beauty products I had forgotten about but have recently rediscovered!

1. Bourjois Health Mix Serum Foundation | £8
I can't find this on the Boots website anymore but it's available on Amazon here. I've previously reviewed this product earlier on this year here but I just forgot about it once I bought a new foundation. However, after using this I remembered why I loved it. It has a lovely scent, easy to blend and gives a good coverage.

2. Soap and Glory Kick Ass Concealer | £10
Although I like the actual concealer in this kit, I've been using the setting powder most. It just increases the longevity of my concealer and makes sure I don't look oily during the day. I've also reviewed this concealer here.

3. Accessorize Baked Blush in Scandal | £5
This was the first ever baked blush I bought and I loved it and used it everyday for months, but as usual I ended up switching it up with a new product and putting it to the back of my collection. I found it again the other day and remembered how beautiful it looked on my skin. It gives a lovely highlight as well, which saves time in the morning! As with some of the other products this specific shade isn't available anymore, however this blush looks similar and is also an Accessorize Baked Blush.

4. Benefit High Beam | £19.50 (full size)
I've never actually seen a negative review of this highlighter and I adore it. I usually gravitate towards it during the summer months because it just looks beautiful on the skin. I've done a full review of this highlighter here.

I'm going to university! | New chapter of my life

So yesterday I got my A-level results and I found out I got the grades I needed to get into my first choice university! I am so happy, yet also nervous. It'll be a new chapter of my life and I am so excited to be able to go, live away from my parents and have some independence (I'll obviously miss them a lot though!), starting somewhere where I won't know anyone and to be away from home. It'll be a new experience but I am looking forward to it! If anyone else got A-level results yesterday, I hope you got the results you wanted!

Little Life Update

The other week I got my third lobe piercing done (the earring with the pink gem) and I now have an even number of piercings again as the thought of an odd number of piercings makes me uncomfortable.

I've also spent my whole afternoon having a Harry Potter marathon.

Throwing out revision was also refreshing, although it's almost sad to chuck away work that I spent so many hours on!

Finally a late night hot chocolate!

I hope you're all well!

Smokey Grows Up | “Time spent with a cat is never wasted.”

Back in October last year I made this post in which I introduced you to my new kitten, Smokey. He is the cutest little kitten and I constantly take photos of him, and although it's not a beauty post, who doesn't love photos of a cute animal?! (Okay, maybe everyone doesn't but I do!).

Smokey (and his sister on the left)

He used to chase the cursor on the computer screen!

Possibly one of my favourite photos of Smokey, ever.

I can't believe how tiny he is in all these photos, compared to now.

He's so big now, he's literally just a ball of fluff and he's so cute!

Also good luck to everyone getting their A-level results today, I'm getting mine and I am incredibly nervous!

Bourjois Cream Blush 03 Rose Tender | Review

Last month I blogged about my 3 favourite summer products and in that post I mentioned the Bourjois Little Round Pot Cream Blush in 03 Rose Tender. I thought it was time a did a full review, even though it's probably obvious that I really love this product.

I only have a few cream blushes because I've always been a little wary of using them, worried I'd end up looking like a clown (not a look i want to go for!). However after trying the Bourjois Cream Blush I really want to buy the other shades in the range.

As far as the packaging goes, it's almost perfect in my opinion. It has a magnet to keep it closed, a good sized mirror and the whole product has sleek packaging.

You may be able to see the tiny amount of shimmer in the swatch, however it's not visible once applied onto your face. I find using a small stippling brush gives the best results, although using your fingers also works well if you don't own a small stippling brush. The staying power of this blush is amazing as it gives you a beautiful dewy look all day. The blush is a cream to powder blush which I really like and it's so easy to blend.

Overall, I cannot praise this blush enough. It has to be one of my favourite blushes and I really would recommend it to anyone!

Have you tried the Bourjois Cream Blushes?

FashionistA Eyebrow Kit | Review

Back in June I mentioned in this post that I had purchased a few items from FashionistA and so far my favourite product has been the Eyebrow Kit which is still on sale for £3.50 (usually £7). This kit has replaced my previous favourite which was the ELF Eyebrow Kit.

The packaging is sleek and is really sturdy which is always a bonus when it sometimes gets chucked in my make up bag in a rush!

The palette only comes in one shade as far as I know, but the kit has 3 separate brow powders, a wax, a pair of tweezers, a mini eyebrow brush and a mirror!

I have used this eyebrow palette every single day since I bought it, I absolutely love it. I was slightly worried at first that I wouldn't find a powder that matched my brows, but I just mix the top two powders and it fits me perfectly. I will admit though, I don't use the wax as I personally prefer to use the ELF Wet Gloss Lash & Brow Clear Mascara, saying that the wax does still work really well to keep your brows in place!

I am so glad I have this palette as it has become an everyday staple product for me! It is perfect for travelling or just popping into your make up bag as it has all your brows will need on a day to day basis.

What's your favourite product to use on your brows?

Crazy Cat Lady

Some of you may or may not know that I am in fact a cat lover. In October 2012 I homed a beautiful kitten called Smokey and I made a post about it here and he is now over a year old. Back in April my kitten's mum had more kittens and I made another post (including a lot of cute photos) here. Well now, the last kitten was being re-homed but I obviously had to have a cuddle before he/she went. I thought I'd share a few photos with you, just because, well kittens are cute!

(please ignore my messy hair, it's just one of those bad hair days!)

cat selfies hahaha.

A little comparison photo. (2 weeks old on the left and 16 weeks old on the right!)

I hope you're all having a good day! I will be posting more beauty related posts soon I promise.

My Essentials When Beauty Blogging

I do find blogging enjoyable otherwise I wouldn't keep writing up blog posts, but there are a few things that make writing up blog posts a little easier for me.

Coffee
I'm not a tea person, I can't stand it even though yes, I am British. I can't be ready for my day without coffee, so whilst I'm blogging it just keeps me going and a hot drink is always nice. (Having it in a cute mug also helps haha!)

Basket of products
When I'm writing up a review or just chatting about products it makes it easier for me if the products are easily accessible. I also use this basket for my everyday make up, so it makes sense to write up a blog post about a product I've been using and loving recently.

Blog Planner
First off, I did not create this blog planner. I found it on this lovely blog, Confessionsofahomeschooler. I was searching google for a blog planner and then found that there was a free printable one here - I use the 2013 Colourful Blog Planner which you can view and print off here.
Having a blog planner has made my life so much easier. It means I don't have to try and plan posts in my head, it just means I can write my ideas and notes down and also put them onto the monthly calendar.

All of these make my blogging experience more relaxed and organised for me.

What are your essentials for when you blog?

Simple Kind To Skin Moisture Boost Hydro Mist Spray | Review

As usual I ended up in my local Boots before work and I wasn't too fussed by any of the make up on the stands but whilst looking at skincare products I noticed a product I hadn't seen before by Simple. It was the Simple Kind To Skin Moisture Boost Hydro Mist Spray which retails at £5.99 for 50ml of product.

As far as packaging goes, I have no complaints as it's just a spray bottle with similar packaging to the rest of the Simple range. This spray is meant to give you naturally dewy skin which drew me into the product immediately because I prefer a dewy look compared to a matte look. It contains 2 vitamins that are beneficial for your skin, pro vitamin B and vitamin E. As well as these the spray also contains two "skin loving ingredients" which are lotus flower and glycerin. As well as these elements to it, like other Simple products it has no perfume, colour or harsh chemicals which puts me at ease knowing I'm not putting these onto my skin. I personally get on with Simple products, although I know some people do not at all, but it really works well for my skin.

The actual spray itself is brilliant in my opinion. I just spray it a couple of times (for best results use 2-4 sprays at about 20-30cm away from the face) and my skin feels instantly hydrated, but it doesn't leave my skin feeling sticky. It also dries really quickly as well and does leave me with dewy looking skin, I wish I had this product in my collection when it was really hot here in England because it is so refreshing!

As it's only a small bottle, this has both pros and cons in my opinion. A con is that you I think £5.99 is a little pricey for 50ml of product, however on the other hand it's the perfect size to just chuck in your handbag or make up bag.

Overall, I am glad I purchased this. I think I would still re purchase it, despite it being a little pricey but just to refresh my face whilst I'm at work or out shopping it's definitely handy.

Have you tried the Simple Kind To Skin Moisture Boost Hydro Mist Spray? If not, would you be interested in trying it?
