ELF Studio Blush Haul

Recently ELF had 50% off everything which they brought back due to popular demand, and so I took advantage of this and bought a few things. I say a few, it came to £32 including the 50% off, oops. I'm going to be breaking up the haul though, so it's not one massive post. I'm starting with the blushes I bought, as they're always my favourite.

This time I only bought things from the Studio range where most items are £3.75.

This is the first time I've tried a Studio Cream Blush and it's not the exact colour I thought it was, but ELF has never been good with swatches. It's in the colour tease and on the website it looks quite coral but it's still a beautiful colour. The texture is not what I was expecting as it's almost bouncy. This is the most expensive blush I bought for £6.50.

The next three blushes I have are the normal Studio Line Blushes and are £3.75 each.

This is Fucshia Fusion which is a lot bright then I usually go for, but I thought it looked pretty. It is highly pigmented, but if you use a light hand it works well. Again, only £3.75

Next this is Twinkle Pink and I think it's quickly becoming my favourite blush. It has some shimmer in it, but it isn't too over the top. It is such a beautiful colour. I was wearing this today and it just gives a nice glow.

Finally, Giddy Gold which I wasn't expecting to be this gold despite the name! It's almost a bronzer on my skin, but it's still gorgeous.

Swatches from Bottom to top

  • Studio Cream Blush - Tease
  • Studio Blush - Fucshia Fusion
  • Studio Blush - Twinkle Pink
  • Studio Blush - Giggity Gold

I'm going on holiday next week...

So as the title suggests, I am going away next Saturday for a week. I'm going on holiday to the coast with my family, and I won't be able to update this blog whilst I'm gone. If I have enough time I will make some posts and queue them, however I can't promise that!

I hope none of you mind that I'll be gone for a while (I'm sure no one will actually notice) but I'll do posts as soon as I'm home!

MUA Heaven and Earth Palette

A while ago MUA (Make Up Academy) had the Heaven and Earth palette on sale for only £3 (the usual price is only £4 but saving money in any way is still useful as I'm a student!) and so I bought it. Ever since I've had it, I've loved using it. It's so easy to blend the colours and wear them everyday to school or work.

As you can see, they are all shimmery eyeshadows, however they're not so over the top that it looks it looks strange to wear in the day time. The shadows are highly pigmented and there are obviously lighter and darker shades so this caters to everyone.

This is the top row of swatches, without using a primer. As I mentioned previously, they are highly pigmented which you can see clearly. I use the colour on the far left as a highlight for the inner-corner of my eye.

This is the second row of swatches and as you can see they are a lot darker, but still so well pigmented.

Overall, I adore this palette and I would definitely re-purchase it. I originally bought it because everyone was saying it was a dupe for the Urban Decay Naked Palette which is £36, so for £3 I thought it was a lot cheaper to try it out. However now MUA have released a Undressed Palette which really is a dupe for the Naked palette.

Technic Nail Polish in Carnival

Recently in my eBay wishlist I mentioned that I wanted to try the Technic Nail Polish in Carnival after seeing loads of people commenting on how good it was. So I went ahead and bought it. I bought it from here and it was only £2.49 including postage.

It's got so many pretty colours in it and it has bigger chunks of glitter and smaller ones, but it's still gorgeous.

I've currently got it on as an accent colour over the top of a Barry M Nail Paint in Strawberry Ice Cream. I think it just makes your nails look a bit more fun (if that's even the right word) and I think it'd go well over any pastel colour.

(P.S please ignore the awful state of my nails, it's due to bad habits and wearing fake nails too often)

Anyway, I am definitely glad that I purchased this as I have nothing else similar in my collection and for only £2.49 including postage it's so cheap!

Beauty Blender Dupe

A while ago everyone was talking about the Beauty Blender which is a sponge used for applying foundation. I'd never got round to buying one, until the other week when I saw a dupe on eBay and I thought I'd try one. Although I cannot compare it to the actual beauty blender, I still wanted to try it.

You can use the Beauty Blender both dry and wet, however I think it works better when a little damp.

So far I actually love this product, I use it to apply my Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation which is a liquid foundation. It gives an even coverage and the tip also helps for under the eyes and down the sides of your noise. As I said at the beginning of the post I didn't buy the original Beauty Blender I bought a dupe from here for only £1.79 including postage and packaging.

Ebay 10 Blush Palette

A while ago when I was just on eBay and I came across a lot of blush palettes. I wanted to buy one, but was a bit wary as I didn't know if they were reliable. However after recently seeing a lot of positive reviews about them, I decided I'd buy one. It's a 10 Colour Blush Palette and it only cost me £3.99 including postage and packaging. Since it was coming from China I thought I'd have to wait forever for it to arrive, but it arrived after 8 days which I thought was pretty quick.

As you can see there is a variety of shades, some are shimmery and some are matte which is even better.

The top row. As you can see, they are so pigmented, especially considering the price.

And the second row. This row has a lot more bright colours which you'd need to use a light hand on.

Overall I love this palette so far. It is so cheap and it came packaged with lots of bubble wrap so nothing cracked in transition. The only down side I would say about this palette is that some of them are very chalky, but you just need to tap off the excess and it's fine.

Soap and Glory The Righteous Body Butter | Review

The Christmas before last my Mum bought me a Soap and Glory gift box and it had the Righteous Body Butter in and this was the first time I'd tried Soap and Glory and I was amazed. It smelt so good, but they were also good quality products.

So the other day I repurchased the Righteous Butter since my other was almost done, I wanted to make sure I had a back up.

It's a fairly thick formula, but not too thick that it doesn't sink into your skin for ages. It is also really moisturizing and although that sounds like a stupid thing to say since it is a moisturizer, some of them aren't that great!

It's £10.50 for 300ml from Boots but it lasts forever, obviously not literally, but it lasts a long time. I would definitely say this is my favourite moisturizer and I'd recommend it to anyone.

Pink Glittery Nails | NOTD 001

Just a quick post because I like how my nails look today.

I used this MUA (Make Up Academy) nail varnish in Shade 17 for only £1.

I then used two coats of this L&B Nail Polish. I think this is from Tesco, but as it was a gift I'm not 100% certain.

Anyway, even though these are simple nails I still think they look quite cute for summer.

Soap and Glory - Calm One Calm All Bubble Bath

At Christmas my Mum bought me the Soap and Glory gift bag and it had loads of Soap and Glory products I hadn't tried. I've only just got round to using this, and I absolutely love it!

I love the packaging as always, but most of it it smells as good as all the other Soap and Glory products. It also creates a lot of bubbles (which might sound obvious for a bubble bath, but some leave you with hardly any bubbles!).

You can buy it for £5.50 from Boots. Once I've used this bottle of it, I'll definitely be re-purchasing it. It also does leave your skin feeling really soft, like it says it will.

Small Boots Haul

On my lunch break on Saturday I decided since I had £10 worth of Boots vouchers that I should spend them since there was a couple of things I wanted. And I thought I'd do a post on what I bought.

So I finally went and bought the Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer after I'd seen so many amazing reviews about it. I got it in 'Fair' and I haven't actually used it yet, but I'm sure I'll love it. It's only £4.19 and has been compared to MAC concealers, so I do have high hopes for this concealer.

I also bought the Collection 2000 Sheer Loose Powder which was only £2.99 but I can't find it on the Boots website, so I'm not sure if they're discontinuing it, but it's still available on the Collection 2000 website. I've never bought a loose powder before and since I had money to spend, I thought I should try it.

Finally the last thing I bought was this Collection 2000 Supersize mascara which was once again, only £2.99.  It was an impulse buy but I don't usually just wear one coat of mascara, so I thought I'd try something new.

I'll do a review on all of these products once I've used them.

This is also how the English 'summer' is looking currently...
